Coach Rio has expressed his disappointment following Sunday’s dismal performance at home against Playmaster Lions. The team suffered a two nil defeat following a goal in each half.
“I was hoping for a better performance today (Sunday).” said an optimistic Rio. “It once again felt like we had the lions right where we wanted them at beginning, only to see them come out and score twice in each half to win.”
He explained to his players that they were all in that mess and had to work as a team to come out of the closet.
“We were able to stay strong and keep fighting in the second half, but our effectiveness was absent.
Several players didn’t hold up their end of the bargain, resulting in us suffering a disappointing loss. offensives have not showed up let alone fullbacks. This field is big, hugging the line makes the pitch even spacious. We need to work on our attitude on gamedays especially. We have to accept that not all of us can all play at the same time, some have to play, some have to sit and watch and learn. Mistakes should be punished,” Rio stated.
He also explained that breaking ties was inevitable but in good faith for the betterment of the sport as a team effort.
“We need to put this behind us, refocus and prepare for our next game. let”s not drop our faces. Effort in, effort out, training in, results out, that’s the only way we can win. There’s no back route,” he exclaimed.
Team manager, Victor Ambula, also added that the team is also working on impacting the lives of those in the neighborhood and vice versa.
